WA cafes and restaurants to benefit from Ramsay Health Care gifts for staff

Dec 23, 2021

Ramsay Health Care has given staff at its five WA hospitals gifts to thank them for their dedication – and they are not the only ones to benefit from the presents, which were specifically chosen to simultaneously support local business.

Health care workers from Joondalup Health Campus, Peel Health Campus, Hollywood Private Hospital, Glengarry Private Hospital and Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital received gift cards to enjoy a meal with loved ones at a local restaurant, bar or café.

With about 8000 Ramsay Health Care workers in WA, the gift cards represent $600,000 for the local hospitality industry.

Ramsay Health Care Australia CEO, Carmel Monaghan, said the leadership team wanted to say thank you to staff for their ongoing care, compassion and commitment in 2021.

“We wanted to choose a gift that would bring our staff some joy, but also inject much-needed funds into local communities,” Ms Monaghan said.

“Many small business restaurants and cafes were subject to lockdowns and restricted
patron numbers due to COVID-19 this year and they deserve some support this festive season.”

Samudera Artisan Food & Bakehouse in Mandurah was one of many businesses to benefit from the gift cards.

Owner Angela Loaring, a former nurse for Ramsay Health Care, said it was a great initiative.

“I encourage other companies to also support their local communities in this way,” Ms Loaring said.

Almost 30,000 Ramsay Health Care hospital staff across five states received the gifts worth close to $2 million to Australian businesses.

“I want to wish all our staff and patients a peaceful and safe festive season and let them know that whatever the new year brings, the Ramsay team is here for you,” Ms
Monaghan said.
