Your stay at Glengarry Private Hospital
Children
In the interest of your child’s wellbeing parents or guardians are encouraged to stay overnight with their children. If for any reason you are unable to stay with your child, please discuss this with the hospital prior to admission.
Clergy
We have a multidenominational Minister who can visit at your request. Please ask your ward staff if you require assistance.
Electrical appliances
All appliances must be in safe working order prior to use due to patient and workplace health and safety regulations. Hairdryers are available on the ward for personal use.
Flowers
We welcome flowers to brighten up your stay however potted plants are not permitted for infection control reasons.
Glengarry Shopping Centre
Glengarry Shopping Centre is adjacent to the hospital. It provides a range of shops and services including a supermarket, bakery, newsagency, post office and florist.
Hairdresser
We can arrange a visit from a hairdresser. Please ask our staff to make an appointment for you. You will need to pay the hairdresser directly at the visit.

Laundry
Glengarry doesn’t provide a personal laundry service. For any washing please make your own arrangements with family and friends.
Mail
Patients can send and receive mail by post. Incoming mail is delivered to the wards daily and outgoing mail may be left at the front office for posting. Mail delivered after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address.
Meals
All meals are prepared freshly on site by our catering team. We offer a range of professionally prepared, delicious and healthy meals. Special dietary requirements are catered for on request. Please talk to the ward staff if you need any assistance.
Mobile Phones
When you are admitted please ask our staff if mobiles can be used in your room. Mobiles may be used in all public areas including the coffee shop. Glengarry Private Hospital does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to your mobile phone.
Pharmacy
Medications on prescription are supplied from an offsite pharmacy.

Security
CCTV Cameras are in use throughout the facility and grounds for patient and staff safety. Security services also regularly patrol the facility.
Smoking
Glengarry Private Hospital is a smoke free hospital in line Health Department Regulations and our commitment to providing patients and employees with a healthy and safe environment. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises or grounds of the hospital.
Telephones
A phone is provided next to every bed (excluding the day unit) with direct dialling for local, STD and mobile calls. Check your phone number on admission so you can tell family and friends your direct number. International calls can be arranged via reception. Mobile, STD and ISD calls will be charged to your account. For the privacy and respect of others please limit mobile phone use in the hospital.
Television
All patient rooms have digital televisions offering Freeview stations and access to 15 Foxtel channels. Please keep the volume at a reasonable level particularly at night for the comfort all patients.
Valuables
We recommend valuables are left at home. While we try to ensure the security of all patient possessions, we can’t accept liability for any loss during your hospital stay.
