Glengarry Private Hospital hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on Wednesday (June 16) and raised $1030 for Cancer Council Australia.
The catering team prepared ‘high tea to go’ and sold more than 100 assortment boxes. The boxes featured gourmet treats such as pork bao buns, chunky beef pie, chicken sandwiches and profiteroles, while the vegetarian options included aranchini balls, mini vegetable sliders and dark chocolate tart.
Chief Executive Officer Leonie Gardiner said Glengarry was fortunate to have a skilled catering team who prepared delicious food.
“The ‘high tea to go’ was offered to staff and patients and was a huge success,” Mrs Gardiner said.
“Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea was a great opportunity to showcase the talents and creative flair of our chefs as well as supporting a worthy cause.”
Money raised from Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea helps fund research, prevention and support services for those affected by cancer.
This year, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has raised about $6 million to provide essential funds for people impacted by cancer.
