Nov 18, 2021

Student nurse Angel Manganti was the recipient of the Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs 2021 Lucy Bohan Nursing Bursary, which is sponsored by Glengarry Private Hospital.

Director of Clinical Services Karen Cunliffe said it was an honour to represent the hospital at an awards presentation evening on November 3.

“The bursary is offered to a female nursing student who has completed the first year of study at Edith Cowan University studying for a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or a double degree Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and Bachelor of Science (Midwifery),” Ms Cunliffe said.

“The bursary is a financial donation for eligible student nurses.

“Some of our current staff at Glengarry have peen previous recipients of the nursing bursary.”

Lucy Bohan was the Zonta Perth Northern Suburbs’ second club president. She passed away in 1990. The bursaries have been awarded since 1995.

Glengarry Private Hospital is part of Ramsay Health Care, which is committed to giving back to the community.

The hospital’s CEO, Leonie Gardiner, said caring for community is a core pillar of the company’s sustainability program Ramsay Cares.

“Ramsay’s commitment to caring for the community stretches beyond connecting patients to skilled practitioners and providing opportunities to take part in potentially life-changing clinical trials and research projects,” Ms Gardiner said.

“We recognise we have an important role to play in our local communities and in serving society at large.”
