Huge food haul by Glengarry Private Hospital staff for Homelessness Week

Aug 16, 2022

Glengarry Private Hospital staff donated enough food to fill a kitchen during Homelessness Week from August 1 to 7.

Staff donated hundreds of dollars’ worth of food such as canned food, breakfast cereal and long life milk to help those who are going without. Other donations included personal hygiene and household items including nappies, toilet paper and washing products.

Chief Executive Officer Leonie Gardiner said the hospital decided to give back to the community by donating to Foodbank WA,” she said.

“Food drives are a great way to get the team together while supporting those in need.

“We are proud of our staff who supported the food drive and gave so generously.”

According to the Foodbank Hunger Report 2021, one in six Australian adults have not had enough to eat in a 12-month period, while 1.2 million children had gone hungry.

Foodbank provides food relief to more than a million people each month.
