Background & Training

Dr Tony Strangio graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993.

Tony joined Joondalup City Dental in 1994 and in 1999 formed a partnership with Dr Roy Sarmidi in Joondalup City Dental. 

He first became involved in implant dentistry in 1996 at the Branemark Centre. He completed his primaries for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2006 and was awarded a commendation.

Tony completed his Master’s Degree in Oral Implantology in 2013 (Germany) and currently operates a referral based practice in the field of oral and implant surgery, which he has maintained for over 10 years.

Dr Strangio has lectured extensively in the field of implant dentistry and was involved as a lecturer at the Oral Health Centre of WA from 2002-2004 in the field of exodontia. He also runs a local study club in the field of dental. His main passion is oral (dento-aveola) surgery and dental implants. Dr Strangio offers services under local anaesthetic and intravenous sedation and general anaesthetic.

Since then, he has been involved in Australasian Osseointegration Society, both in the Federal and the State level, and currently, he is serving as the President of AOS (WA branch).

Tony is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Periodontology, Australian Prosthodontic Society and co-founder of the Academy of Dental Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation (ADI OR).

He also has been involved in several pre-launch clinical trials and the development of angulated implantology. His research interests include immediate implantology and simplification of implant techniques.
