Palan is a Specialist General Surgeon with a focus on breast oncoplasty. He has experience and expertise in treating all aspects of general surgical conditions, including emergency, elective and laparoscopic surgery.
Palan provides the highest level of surgical expertise and care for his patients.
He offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to breast cancer management including partial and complete reconstructions to optimize patient care and satisfaction. He also performs breast implant revisions, corrections, reductions, and augmentations.
Palan’s experience and empathetic approach has given him great understanding on how breast cancer impacts an individual and their family. He is proudly a NO GAP provider for most general surgical procedures and all breast cancer procedures. He also manages all aspects of general surgical conditions including laparoscopic hernia and gallbladder procedures.
Background & Training
Mr Thirunavukkarasu obtained his Fellowship with Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He subsequently undertook two years of post-fellowship training in oncoplastic breast surgery in Perth with Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand, encompassing all aspects of breast oncology, reconstruction, reduction and augmentation.
He completed his medical degree in India and surgical training in Perth. Palan is currently a Consultant Surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.Palan is the co-director of the Midland Hernia and Gallbladder Clinic (www.herniagallbladerclinic.com.au).
Palan enjoys mentoring surgical fellows, trainees and medical students from UWA, Curtin University and Notre Dame University. He has published numerous papers relating to breast cancers and general surgical conditions.
