Background & Training:
Dr Rao received his specialist training in O&G in Australia, United Kingdom and Malaysia. He holds specialist qualifications/post-nominals from Australia, (FRANZCOG & CORT-GO), United Kingdom (FRCOG), America (FACOG) and Malaysia (NSR).
Prior to moving to Perth, he spent 3 years training in advanced gynaecology & cancer surgery and a year in advanced obstetrics (maternal-foetal medicine) at the world-renowned Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney. Originally from Malaysia, he went to Indonesia under the Prime Minister of Malaysia patronage, where he completed his medical school with an additional honours’ degree. Postgraduate training was in England and Scotland through a British Council Sponsorship.
His proudest moment was being the recipient of the inaugural Prime Minister of Australia Endeavour Award in 2010 to pursue sub-specialised O&G training in Sydney and doctoral research in HPV at the University of New South Wales.
