Dr Robert Petanceski is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and has 20 years of experience with a focus in all aspects of shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist and knee surgery. He also has experience in trauma and sporting injuries.
He keeps himself relevant and up to date with all evidence-based techniques that are shown to improve patient outcomes. Rob’s guiding principle is to achieve a rapid return to normal as quickly as possible for his patients. He believes that facilitating good, open communication is necessary to ensure a smooth transition. He works in tandem with his patients to understand what they would like to achieve from their treatment and to discuss all available options with them.
Rob has hospital accreditations at Hollywood Private Hospital, Glengarry Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus.
Background and training
Mr Rob Petanceski grew up and went to school in Wollongong, NSW. He studied medicine at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and graduated in 1990. He then completed his Orthopaedic Training Programme in Perth, WA in January, 2000 where he has based his practice. Further to his training he completed a Joint Replacement Fellowship in Sweden in 2000 and Rob has over 20 years of service to his profession and is an established orthopaedic surgeon in Perth who has interests in shoulder, knee, elbow, hand and wrist issues. He provides Orthopaedic Consults and surgery for Private Patients, DVA and also Worker’s Compensation Patients. He performs all the latest techniques, including minimal invasive arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures and has recently completed a course in robotic assisted surgery.
