Clinical Practice:
Mr Hannes Basson has commenced practice at Joondalup Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus for public and private patients on a no gap basis. He also has an operating list (General Surgery only) at Glengarry Private Hospital. He consults out of his rooms in Joondalup.
Training & Background:
Mr Basson trained in South Africa where he was in private practice for 10 years. In 2003, Mr Basson emigrated to Australia and worked at Royal Perth Hospital,obtaining FRACS in 2004. Mr. Basson also trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Mr Basson's main interests are:
- Upper GI surgery
- Laparoscopic surgery including laparoscopic ventral and inguinal hernia repairs
- Heller's myotomy
- Anti-reflux surgery
- Appendicectomy
- Endoscopic surgery for hyperhidrosis
- Endoscopic splanchnicectomy for chronic visceral pain
